Hello 8th grade families,
The big day has finally arrived!
First, a few updates since our last communication:
The ceremony will be streamed on Vimeo (you do not need an account to watch). The link is located here
We will not permit anyone into the seating area until 4:00. While parking is always a challenge for large events, Willow Dale’s dismissal is still happening as late as 3:30, so please be sure not to disrupt that process.
While there is no rain in the forecast, it is expected to be 86 degrees. If you have a health condition that will make sitting in the sun for an extended period of time, we strongly encourage you to watch the streamed version of the ceremony from the comfort of your own home.
For handicapped parking, there are a limited number of spaces that will be designated with signs close to the ceremony seating area.
Here are details we have shared in the past:
For the promotion:
Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Log College parking lot (Willow Dale side).
We highly recommend bringing water. Our HSA will be selling a limited supply of water, snacks, and flowers (cash only)
There is not a specific dress code, but students should dress appropriately.
The ceremony will last approximately 60 minutes (last year’s took just over 45 minutes).
The building (and bathrooms) will not be open.
The ceremony includes a few speeches, a brief musical performance, presentation of a handful of our most prestigious awards, and the individual announcements of our student body.
Seating will be spaced for families (groups of five).
Students sit with their families during the ceremony. Families who requested extra tickets should bring a chair. You may not take a chair from another family’s set of five. If there is space, you may sit one chair next to your family’s section or sit behind the last row (no seat is a bad seat). However, your seat cannot block the aisle; space is needed for students to walk to the front.
Thank you and see you tonight!
Mr. Patrick Golderer
Principal
