Log College Middle School Promotion Ceremony

Hello 8th grade families,

Welcome to the latest edition of our promotion ceremony update!

Fast Facts:

  • Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Log College parking lot (Willow Dale side).

  • Be prepared to be in the sun and outdoors for approximately one hour.  If you have a health condition that makes this unsafe, we strongly encourage watching the ceremony on our video feed.  We will share the link on Monday.

  • We also highly recommend bringing water.

  • Parking will be available at Log College and Willow Dale Elem.

  • Our Home and School Association will be selling concessions (Cash only):

    • Flowers (limited supply) $10

    • Baked Treats $3

    • Water and Soft Pretzels $1 each

    The Ceremony:

  • While the promotion is optional to attend, we do expect most students to be present.

  • There is not a specific dress code, but students should dress appropriately.

  • The ceremony will last approximately 60 minutes (last year’s took just over 45 minutes).

  • The building (and bathrooms) will not be open.

  • The ceremony includes a few speeches, a brief musical performance, presentation of a handful of our most prestigious awards, and the individual announcements of our student body.

Tickets:

  • On Friday, May 31, each 8th grade student will receive four guest tickets necessary for entry.

    • Two primary tickets and two secondary tickets.

    • Seating will be spaced for families (groups of five).

    • Students sit with their families.  Families who received extra tickets should bring a chair.  You may not take a chair from another family’s set of five.  If there is space, you may sit next to your family’s section or sit behind the last row (no seat is a bad seat).

  • Rain: In the case of rain, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the LCMS auditorium.

    • Due to capacity restrictions, only guests with primary tickets will be permitted to enter the building.  Please consider this when determining which tickets you will share with your guests. There are no exceptions and requests for additional tickets will not be granted.

    • As of Sunday morning, the forecast shows a 15% chance of rain with a high temperature of 84 degrees.

Please email any questions/concerns to goldpa@centennialsd.org.

Sincerely

Mr. Patrick Golderer

Principal
